When you set up your payments on Moonode, you'll notice we redirect you to Stripe to finalize the connection of your bank account. This is perfectly normal, and here's why.

Stripe is our secure payment partner. It's one of the most reliable financial infrastructures in the world — the same technology used by Amazon, Shopify, and thousands of nonprofit organizations globally.

Practically, this means two important things for you:

1. Your money belongs to you — and you choose how to receive it. If you connect your own Stripe account, donations from your community arrive directly there, without any intermediary. If you prefer not to create a Stripe account, Moonode collects the funds on your behalf and transfers them to you manually via bank transfer, Interac e-Transfer, or PayPal — according to your preference.

2. Stripe handles all identity verification for you. When you connect your account, Stripe asks for some information (phone number, organization type, bank details). This is their standard legal compliance process (KYC — Know Your Customer) to protect your organization and your donors. You don't have to fill out any additional forms on Moonode's side.

Think of Stripe as the notary for your transactions: discreet, secure, and there to ensure everything is done by the rules.

What It Really Costs — Total Transparency

Here's the reality of fees, no surprises:

• 💳 Standard Stripe Fees: ~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (bank processing fees)

• 🏆 Stripe Fees for Nonprofit Organizations: only 2.2% + $0.30 per transaction — this is one of the lowest rates available on the market. If your mosque or association is registered as a nonprofit, you can apply directly to Stripe to benefit from this reduced rate. Moonode guides you through this process from your dashboard.

Launch Your Campaign in 3 Steps

Step 1 — Connect Your Stripe Account

In your Moonode dashboard, go to Page Settings → Payments → Stripe Connect.

Click on "Connect a Stripe Account". You will be guided through the Stripe onboarding process: verification of your phone number, organization type, and bank details. Stripe handles all of this — Moonode does not have access to your banking information.

Once completed, your dashboard will display: ✅ Your Stripe account is active — donations arrive directly in your bank.

Step 2 — Create Your Campaign

Back in your dashboard, go to Campaign → New Campaign.

Give your campaign a name, set your financial goal, choose your currency (CAD, USD, or EUR), add a cover image, and write your description — in English, French, or Arabic depending on your community.

Click on "Create Campaign": your campaign is ready for review.

Step 3 — Share and Collect

Once approved, your campaign is live (LIVE). You receive a unique link — for example moonode.com/campaign/your-campaign — that you can share on WhatsApp, Instagram, in your newsletter, or display directly on your DinScreen screens in the mosque.

Your community can donate in seconds: suggested amounts ($15, $25, $35, $100), custom amount, monthly recurring donation option, and the ability to donate anonymously.
